Adrià Grandia

Just like watercolor begets many hues, or a novel conceals many possible readings, musical instruments may become a kaleidoscope of sounds and harmonies, only depending on the performer’s skills.
This is what Adrià Grandia is commited with in his painstaking performances of instruments whose sole names transport us to the Middle Ages: The tarota, the gralla and the string viola.
With the title “A thousand years of instruments”, Adrià Grandia invites us to discover the great variety of sounds generated by string viola.

Liliana Maffiotte - Raquel Pierotti - Jorge Sarraute

To list now the concerts, compositions, musical arrangements, institutional or orchestral collaborations, and all other talents of Jorge Sarraute would be eternal. Music-wise, he simply has it all at his touch. Since 1967, audiences of all over the world have enjoyed the solemnity of his double-bass. His numerous jobs with Ovidi Montllor, J. A. Labordeta, Mª del Mar Bonet, Raimón, Marina Rosell, Sisa, Carlos Cano , George Gruz, Joe Gallardo, Bernd Lechtenfeld, Alan Skilmore, Hernán Lugano, Jordi Bonell, Francesc Borrull, Euclydes Mattos, Elba Picó, Esteban Velez, Pablo Mainetti, Marcelo Mercadante; as well as his compositions for movies like “La portentosa vida del Pare Vicenç” of Carles Mira or “Mi casa es tu casa” de Miguel Álvarez, and for the theater plays “Hometern”, “Pájaros”, are only sparse examples.
One of his latest musical works, “Concertango”, explores a view of Tango from the perspective of chamber music; after being presented in many different Spanish auditoriums, it is about to be released as a studio record. In the line of his usual upscale musical collaborations, this time he teamed up with Raquel Pierotti (contralto) and Liliana Maffiotte (piano), in a trio that has produced a musical novelty of impressive quality, also bound to make us enjoy unforgettable live performances.

Elba Picó

To listen to feelings while relishing the release of inner passion blurted out through a voice, a line of lyrics, a Tango. These sensations, often coveted without any success, become material and easy to achieve in a concert of Elba Picó, whose performances drive us with Milongas and Lunfardos through the ways of tragedy and disaffection, of seduction and musical drama.
The energy and personality of one of the more important tango singers nowadays is fully transmitted in her impressive live performances, which convey sensations ever long-lasting, many times impossible to forget, though always hard to describe.
In her latest work “Caricias de Mimí, recuerdos de Manon”, Elba Picó and the gifted musicians that usually team up with her (among many others, bandoneon soloist Pablo Mainetti, violin player Leonardo Ferreyra, piano virtuose Hernán Possetti, or guitar master César Angeleri ) approach Tango to us in twelve intimate, close, dramatic, familiar themes. Being feelings the only subject, Elba makes her heart sing with unquestionable tenderness, sensuality and character.
